Are Severe Pain In Chest While Taking Deep Breath And Painful Arm A Cause For Concern?

Hi I am probable worring over nothing but.. I have had very bad chest pain for the last 48 + hours, it is just under my left breast, it becomes extreamly bad when I take a deep breath or laugh. Also when I woke up this morning, after going to sleep with this last night, my left arm was also painful and a little week, my arm is pretty much better now. Any idea what may be wrong? Hello!

The pain and numbness in the arm are related to a possible wrong position during sleep, which has lead to a pinched nerve. Anyway, your symptoms are suggestive of local inflammation. There is no reason to panic! I recommend using local warm pacs and taking ibuprofen for the pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
