Are Sinus Infection, Sore Throat And Ear Pain Common When Exposed To Dust?
I am 59 and was exposed to alot of vacuum cleaner dust over a 2 hour period thus resulting in a sinus infection (symptoms were headache, sore throat and glands, ears feel full and hurt). I went to a urgent care facility this afternoon and was given 3 injections: rocephin, solumedrol & toradol. I can not get to sleep, I feel antsy inside. Is this common and if so when will it go away?
Hello Due to dust , you develop bronchoconstriction and also due dust you develop allergy in throat . All these produces such type of symptoms . You got 3 shots , ceftriazone ( rocephin ), solumedrol , steroid and ketorolac ( toradol ) . However these are quite good injections but due to bronchoconstriction you develop sleeplessness . This is very common due to your allergy and shots . When such patient visit I prescribe them to take montelukast+levoceterizine once or twice in day . Also to take some terbutaline type bronchodilators as allergy syrup. Hot coffee and steam inhalation also provide instant relief. Since this is a prescription medicine , so get a consultation from a physician . Hope this will help you.
