Are Spotting And Early Periods Normal After Missing Birth Control Pill?

Hi my question is about birth control.
I tend to forget to take a pill now and then but this month i forgot on one day, took 2 the next. but then forgot again, having to take two the following day. I then had some spotting and today it was almost like i started my period a week early.
Is this normal?
