Are Stomach Cramps And Spotting Normal After Laproscopic Hysterectomy?

Had a hysterectomy laproscopic and bladder lift thru vagina on 27 June, 2014. I had light spotting the first 2 weeks and then on Sunday I starting with cramping and then a light period is this normal? Can I start doing some abdominal exercises soon?
