Are Streaks Of Light In The Field Of Vision A Matter Of Concern?

Yes. A little concern. I am 67, female. In good health. Take a blood pressure, thyroid, meds. 200lbs, 5 6 . I started to get light headed, clammy. I was putting up a curtain. I continued. Took blood pressure with cuff, 127/72; 88 hb. looks good. Now I am experiencing light streaks in my vision, mostly peripheral. Wearing my glasses doesn t change the effects. Breathing normal no pain. Just odd sensations from this episode. Should I be concerned?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You need an urgent retinal examination dear as streaks could be a symptom of a peripheral retinal hole or pull on the retina due to Vitreous.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
