Are Sudden Restlessness, Headache, Poor Concentration And Vision In Succession A Concern?

I have a co-worker who suddenly started acting bizarre. He is normally calm and suddenly started itching, being very jittery, quick talking, couldn t type or control his thoughts and a huge vision problem. He downed a root beer, ate a few semi sweet chocolate drops and a handful of M&M s in rapid succession. Took off his shoes and was very jumpy. He took two Tylenol...said he thought he had a headache. After about 20 min. he calmed down and his vision improved and he could concentrate better. What happened?

Hi,

These signs and symptoms which you are talking about maybe because of hyperviscosity syndrome, in which the thickness of blood is abnormally increased or due to conversion disorder.

For these he has to visit his physician where some investigations would be done like Full blood counts, ESR. If these come out normal then he would need psychiatric consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
