Are Superficial Blood Clots In Thigh After Being Kicked And Hit A Cause For Concern?

I suffer from superficial blood clots in my thigh. I have had 4/5 in the past couple of years. I have been referred to a consultant since the last one. My question is I do a job, where getting kicked, hit, punched in the leg. Happens quite often. Should I change roles till I see the consultant. As I am worried, that my job could give me another clot.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, external compression induced blood clots remain in the subcutaneous tissue space most likely. Those are the deep vein thrombostis clots which get dislodged into the systemic circulation and pause various issues as pulmonary embolism, cerebral disorders as stroke and others.

The clots produced by punching over thighs are not the ones which get into the circulation and pause problems. What most can be carried out is persistence over a period of time, secondary bacterial infection, cosmetic disfigurement

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
