Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Swelling And Fluid Leakage Causes For Concern Post A Permocath Insert?
Hi. My husband has ESRD (11 years on dialysis), PAD and congestive heart failure. Last summer, he had a permocath inserted in his right chest and within a day or so, his right arm swelled up. Despite testing a few times by his vascular surgeon and a graft inserted in his upper right arm, no answers have been given to us as to why this arm suddenly swelled up other than he has kidney disease . I know my husband s health is precarious and ESRD is complicating it, but he never had this symptom before. Also, the arm is leaking fluid profusely now. What are your ideas on why this is happening and how can we ease the weeping issues? Thank you for donating your time.
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that considering his all medical conditions his diagnosis is poor but actively fluid leakage is a concern and need to evaluate physically. Kindly consult a physician personally for further evaluation.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
