Are Swelling In Lower Legs, Fatigue And Headache Symptoms Of Menopause?

Lower legs swell by end of day. Back to normal in the morning. Heat sensation throughout both legs, top to bottom, throughout the day. Skin is not warm to the touch. Also - have had neck pain for a couple months. Some headaches as well. Able to manage through but getting tired. Not into menopause yet, but symptoms may be starting.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The swelling on legs, head ache, are not symptoms of menopause Fatigue can occur after menopause because of less hormones,
The swelling on legs at the end of day along with head ache suggests high blood pressure with possibility of involvement of heart.
Heat sensation on legs through out the day indicates lumber disc problem pressing on the nerve supplying the legs. The nerve irritation can cause sensation of heat, cold, tingling ., numbness too.You also have pain in neck suggesting degenerative changes in vertebral column ( also affecting lumber spine )
When you are approaching menopause.. it's advisable to get a heart check up / Spinal cord X ray , bone density test, serum calcium & vitamin D tested & get consultation from respective experts.. as thses problems many a times start around menopause.
Thanks.
