Are The Lumps Found During BSE A Cause For Concern?

Hi there. I am a 36 year old woman and I do suffer from health anxiety and I recently started obsessing over breast cancer. I constantly do self exams and of course I feel bumps and lumps ( I have large breasts). There is one are of my breast ( inner part near the sternum that I am convinced there is something there. I did this in the exac same spot years ago. It isn t hard it just feels like a smooth lobule that I have irritated. My question is how would I know if there was a lump to be worried about. I just keep feeling this area and it is getting swollen and irritated and then I am panicking more. Like I said I have lumpy breasts but I don t know how to differentiate between something that is worrisome and something that isn t. Is a cancerous lump obvious? I am seeing my psychiatrist on Friday and should I mention this to him and he can in fact five me direction on how to proceed.
