Are There Any Adverse Effects From Prolonged Use Of Lonazep?

I am taking Lonazep .25 mg for past 4 yrs. my name is Darshan Misra and my age is 51 now. I have been taking this medicine as prescribed by doctor for my anxiety disorder but I have been addicted to this medicine. Is there any adverse effect of taking it so long ?...what are other alternative remedies ?

I appreciate your concern for the safety of Lonazep.

Lonazep is one of the effective drugs used in the treatment of anxiety, however on prolonged use it may cause drowsiness, fatigue, loss of balance while walking, loss of memory, day time anxiety (if you take the medicine in the evening) and weakness.

If you are comfortable with this medication, then no need to worry.
Other alternative medications include Zolpidem or Buspirone with less side effects as compared to Lonazep.
