Are There Any Adverse Effects Of Taking Duphaston?
I am 5 weeks pregnant, 1,5 week after having sexual contact I had light pink spotting, two days ago also after sexual contact I had light red spotting, the doctor informed that nothing is serious and advised to take 1 pill of Duphaston per day till 16th week of pregnancy in order to have placenta formed well. There are many opinions about Duphaston, both positive and negative, kindly advise if it is necessary to take Duphaston.
Hello dear Understand your concern Duphaston contain progesterone. It make the uterine more favorable for pregnancy. It maintain healthy pregnancy in low progesterone case and prevent miscarriage. As you had spotting after intercourse, it may be due to low progesterone, injury to vagina, pre cancerous condition of cervix and vagina and vaginal infection. So above cause should be rule out along with low progesterone. Go for blood progesterone level. If found low should to take duphaston. It does not cause any adverse effect on pregnancy and fetus.
