Are There Any Major Side Effects For Meftal Forte?

Is there any major side effects for meftal forte as I am taking it during my periods because of severe pain.I had undergone a USG nand there was a small cyst on my right ovary.Gynaecologist said its not significant and will go with my cycle.Now am having severe pain and I took meftal forte.qorried about the side effects

I understand your concern.
Meftal forte contains mefenamic acid & paracetamol.
Both are NSAID (Non steroidal anti inflammatory) group drugs. They basically relieve pain and inflammation.
Short term common side effects may be nausea, burning in stomach, Diarrhea. Rarely it may cause rash, anemia or dizziness.
It can lead to stomach ulcers or kidney damage if taken in high doses for long time.
If someone is allergic to aspirin or NSAID group drugs than they should not take meftal forte.
For menstrual pain, you are going to take it for a very short time in small dose like once or twice a day. In this dose, it is very safe provided that you are not allergic to it.
