Are There Any Side Effect For Using Tryptomer 25 Mg Instead Of Thyronorm 25 Mcg?

Hi, recently my wife had a TSH test which read 5.2. She was advised by the doctor to take Thyronorm 25 mcg. However by mistake, the pharmacy gave Tryptomer 25 mg tablets. My wife had already taken 2 tablets and then stopped after finding this. Can there any side effects to this?

i can understand your concern. Tryptomer contains Amitryptiline which is an anti depressant medication. By your question, i assume that your wife is not having any symptoms from taking the medication which is good. One tab of 25mg for two days will not produce any adverse reaction.Usually this drug has an effect on us for about 24hrs, if this time has already passed, Your wife will not have any of the side effects. She might feel a bit dizzy, just avoid doing things that require her to concentrate such as driving. Donot Worry. It is very good that your wife has noticed that she was taking the wrong medication.
