Are There Any Side Effects Of An Expired Implanon?

I ve had the Implanon in for 4.5 years now (expired a year and a half now). Are there any side effects of an expired Implanon that I should be experiencing? I m having some weird stuff happen the last six months with my body and period and I ve gained over 60 lbs since it s been in (no change in diet or exercise routine and extra diet and exercise isn t helping at all).

Hello,

Expired implanon does not have any side effects except for the loss or decrease of contraceptive ability. If left in the body for a long time it may cause infection also.
