Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Fanapt For Laryngitis Spasms?

I take fanapt . low dose. I had like a laryngitis spasm I read about one time last night after house work then trying to cough . Then couldn t breath gasping for air, felt like throat constricting then regained breathing . Any connection to side effect of fanapt or metotropol I also take? The third med is crestor which I haven t taken like should in 4 days. Or is it a freak larangitis spasm from trying to cough or something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bronchospams (narrowing of the air ways) which results in difficulty in breathing seem to have been caused by the beta adrenergic blocker metoprolol.

Consult your doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medicine instead of metoprolol. Fanapt and crestor are not known to cause bronchospasm.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
