Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Keflex And Sulfamethoxazol?

I was biten on the top of my foot by something on a United flight from Kuwait 2 weeks ago.I was given Keflex initially which I stopped taking after 3 days. And yesterday I started taking Sulfamethoxazol TMP DS tablets. From both medications, I have bloody diarrhea. Is this normal or something I should be concerned with. I informed the Dr about the effects of Keflex and he didnt really comment about it being a problem.
