Are There Any Side Effects Of Using Mifeprin For Abortion?

Hi Doctor, I am having a 9 months baby.I am pregnant, 45 days.As per scan report,its 4 to 5 Weeks.I approached a doctor for abortion.She adviced to have mifeprin. I took Mifepristone 200 mg as per her advice and she said to take the remaining misoprostol 200 mg after 2 days. Its almost 8 hours now after taking mifepristone 200 mg, i have not started bleeding. Please advice me on this.Also i am feeding my baby,will this drug affect my baby?

I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.

Mifepristone is safe if used as directed and results in complete abortion in up to 97% cases. A few women may have incomplete abortion and need a surgical procedure.
The bleeding usually begins in 24 -48 hours after mifepristone. So please wait. Even if there is no bleeding take the misoprostol as scheduled.

Please see your doctor if there is excessive bleeding, very scanty bleeding or foul smelling discharge.
