Are There Chances Of Pregnancy Even If Plan B Is Taken Within A Hour After Sex And What Could Be The Reason For The Delayed Periods?

Me and my girlfriend had sex a couple weeks ago and I accidentally came inside her. She is on the pill and took plan B within the hour. Her period is taking a long time to come and we are both freaking out about it. Her period usually comes toward the end of the month. How worried should I be?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

The plan B pill can be taken within 72 hours of intercourse and it will give protection. But failure rate is seen in 1% of women using these pill.
so you are protected as you took pill within a hour of the act.
but please remember that i pill is emergency contraceptive pill only and it should not be used as regular contraceptive method.
To rule out pregnancy get urine pregnancy test done.
Most probable cause would be hormonal variation from stress or diet changes.


it can cause side effects like nausea, menstrual irregularities etc with repeated use.

so you better choose some other regular contraceptive method in future.
