Are There Inhalers For COPD With Fewer Side Effects?
Hi My name is Ann, and I have COPD, Stage 4. I have had multiple inhalers and they all cause horrible side effects. Are there any inhalers put there that have fewer side effects? I have very high blood pressure my face, tongue and throat are swelling just to name a few.
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. COPD (chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease) is progressive disease. And inhaled treatment is standard care for this disease. There are newer inhaled bronchodilators are available, which are safe for long term use without much side effects. Long acting beta 2 agonist (LABA), Long Acting Muscarinic Antagonist (LAMA) and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) are safe in long term treatment of COPD. Since all these are prescribed drugs, you need to consult pulmonologist for their prescription. Along with drugs, you should also start chest physiotherapy and deep breathing exercises. This will improve lung functions and reduce the symptoms. Also get done adult Pulmonary vaccines like pneumococcal and Influenza for prevention of future lung infection.
