Are Thyroid Nodules When Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism A Cause For Concern?

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in July and put on the medicine Methimazole 10 mg daily to correct thyroid levels. When I saw my endocrinologist in August for my Prolia shot for Osteoporoisis he felt my neck and then did an ultrasound. He said I had nodules on my Thyroid gland and he would check my TSH levels again before the shot in February and would also do another Ultrasound to see if nodules had grown or stayed the same. How serious is this condition and is there anything I can do or take to make it better? Thank you

Hi. Nodules in the thyroid are due to many causes. most commonly goitre means simple enlargement. Kindly check TSH levels. and get an FNAC test. If with in normal limits and FNAC says its a benign disease, nothing to worry unless for cosmetic purpose. If u symptoms due to enlargement like pain during eating r any other symptoms it needs to be removed. Thank u
