Are Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps Normal During The First Intercourse?

Me and my gf had protected sex, but the condom broke and I pulled out right away. This was her first time so there was some blood, she s said she had some blood in her underwear the day after and the day after that. She also had a major cramp easier today. It s only been about 3 days since we had sex, is this normal or could she be pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello sir and welcome.

I am sure 72 hours would have passed since your sexual contact, once this period has passed we cannot even use emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs), and so we have no other choice but to wait and watch. If at all the condom broke inside her, then there is a high risk of conception and I would thus recommend a home pregnancy test to be conducted using an early morning urine sample at least 2 weeks from the sexual contact or on or after the second day of her missed period.

Best wishes.
