Are Viscosity And Liquification Time Normal In The Following Report?
My semen analysis is volume 2.0 ml, reaction: alkaline Viscosity: high Liquefaction time:60min Motile:40% Sluggish: 20% Non motile:40% Morphology abnormal:20% Morphology normal:80% Toatal sperm count:27 million /cc Pus cells:6-10hpf R BC :2-4hpf Epithelial cells 0-2hpf Spermatogenic cells:1-2hpf Agglutination of sperms: +,head to head :5% Kindly help with ur suggestion
The alkaline viscosity is all right for semen report. The liquification time of 60 minutes is more than normal period (which is around 20 - 30 minutes). Liquification is the time during which the sperms surrounding changes from thick viscous jelly to thin watery atmosphere, which helps to make sperms swim to ovum easily after the release time into vagina, travel upto fallopian tubes. Most common cause of such prolonged liquification is infection of prostate or seminal vesicles which is here supported with reporting of 6-10 pus cells per high power field. It is the basic treatment of infection is mandatory to get best results of semen analysis for the fertility purpose.
