Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a male age 49. 18 Months ago while deployed to Afghanistan with the military my left breast aereola began to itch and became slightly swollen. I changed soaps and tried lotion thinking it was a skin irritation. Those symptoms went away several months later after returning to the US. So here I am a year later and the same symptoms returned. Left breast only and the aereola is dry, a little scally, slightly swollen and itches like crazy from time to time. I did see my doctor about a month ago and had a mamogram done that showed nothing abnormal. Thank you for any advice you can give.

Hi, From history it seems that you are having fungal infection in your aereola giving rise to sever itching and irritation. Apply anti fungal cream locally. Take cetrizine for itching. If require go for oral anti-fungal tablet like Fluconazole 150 mg once in a week for 4 weeks. Ok and take care.
