Aspiral Pneumonia. Treatment, Recovery Time, Precautions During Medication, Vaccination?

My 19 month old son is diagnosed of aspiral pneumonia . I would like to know - What is this disease and how big is this ? Is it easily curable and what is the ideal treatment ? What is the general recovery time ? What precautions should be taken during medication and recovering phase ? Is any vaccination available for this ? If yes, at what price in INR ?

Hello Ajay and thanks for writing in at HCM
Pneumonia is disease related to the inflammation of the lungs due to infection like bacteria, virus etc.
The recovery time and the complications and seriousness of the depends on the area of lungs infected. Larger the area infected more serious is the disease.
The medication required for this is the antibiotic course with other supportive treatment like Oxygen Inhalation, analgesic or antipyretics etc depending on the associated symptoms. But a complete course of antibiotic is mandatory until the patch of the pneumonia is resolved.
Now about the vaccination their is no vaccination available for this. Precautions you have to take are keep a hygienic area, maintain the proper level of oxygen in the body, avoid oil, ghee and banana or other diet which cause cough, Take regular steam and nebulization with chest physiotherapy.
Hope you got all your answers.
