Bad Cold, Fever, Cough, Ultimate Post Nasal Drip Has Caused Excessing Burping, Stomach Discomfort. Help?
My man had a bad cold, fever, coughing, etc. It lasted a long time but he slowly got better within about 2 weeks but I think his ultimate post nasal drip has now caused excessive burping and stomach discomfort. Now I don't know what to do for him to alleviate these symptoms. He's getting very frustrated as he's normally a strong and very healthy person. What can we do to make him normal again? Should I mention that he had a flu shot about a week to 10 days before he got sick?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C..M. Forum. Excessive burp is due to two reasons. 1 Hyper acidity caused by antibiotics used for the treatment for cough and cold. 2 Tension of disease develops gas formation and indigestion, so this produces burp. Post nasal discharge may be due to allergy . As you mentioned that there was cough , fever , cold . All these developed due to bronchoconstriction and bronchoconstriction developed mucus formation ( this is post nasal discharge ). Now consult an E N T and get his opinion as physical examination is important . Good luck.Dr. HET
