Hi, I am having herceptin every 3 weeks and on my 10th dose. I have had a bad cold for a week, the first thing that happened is I lost my voice, now I cannot stop coughing, my nose is consantly blocked, I have problems swollowing and eating and am short of breath and having chest pains. I also feel as if my heart is pounding, I have taken my temp, and it was 36.6 centigrade. Thank you
Hi ! Possibly you have got a severe attack of common cold. I would suggest you to consult an ENT specialist of your area, who may suggest some antibiotic for you apart from decongestant medications. You can also have regular simple steam inhalations at home which is very helpful and soothing in common cold. However, with your history, you may have to go for a chest x ray and some other investigations, if your symptoms increase or gets prolonged. You may have to consult your treating doctor for the same. Wish you an early recovery.
