Bad Cough. Used Humidifier. What Else Can One Do?

My 11 year old daughter has a very bad cough that is only at night. she has not coughed at all during the past two day but last night she started to cough around 8pm and we could not stop it for hours. It is a constant loud deep cough that courses her to vomit.
She eventually went to sleep with a humidifier
Again today hasn't coughed all day... but just now 730pm its starting again. Light at the moment

Any help is appreciated . Kylie

Hello there!
thank you for asking. i read your query and i want to reassure you that if the cough is not associated with sputum or bad chest or fever then all you need to do is to treat the cough symptomatically. use some cough suppressants in guise of some anti histamine syrups, some bronchodilators like salbutamols and some Prokinetic syrups to avoid vomiting like Metoclopromide.
I am sure symptoms will resolve but if the problem persisted for more than three days i would recommend to see the nearby pediatrician to be on the safer road and sort out thew cause for the resistant cough.

Hope i was of some help

regards
