Bad Odor From Belly Button And Orange Color Discharge. Cleaned With Hydrogen Peroxide. Is This The Right Treatment?

I just discovered that there was a bad smell coming from my belly button and upon further investigation found what appeared to be beige to orange-colored discharge drying near the surface and liquid to creamier pus deeper inside. I proceeded to clean out my belly button with hydrogen peroxide and dabbed a little rubbing alcohol on what appeared to be broken skin, followed by coating the inside of my belly button with antibiotic ointment. My questions are -Have I done this properly and should I be concerned?

Hi,

The treatment you are doing is fine, but, I suggest to contact a physician to get your belly physically checked.

I also suggest to do abdominal ultrasound to identify possible intestinal problems (infection) or belly perforation (with pus).

A complete blood profile is necessary to understand your general health background.

All the best!
