Been Diagnosed With A Subchorionic Hematoma, Has Infection. Done Ultrasound. Why Does She Look Pale?
my daughter has been diagnosed with a subchronic hematomia (spelling?) She is due April 22. Her insurance has not kicked in yet. She has had one ultrasound and she has an infection. (I just found out about the infection). She has not got her medication because she is waiting on the insurance. She is looking pale. How dangerous is this?
i am so sorry to hear about this ultrasound finding.
The size of the hematoma determines whether it is potentially harmful or not. generally, the bigger the size the more dangerous it can be. Also, if it is stable, as to say not increasing in size, then it is better than one that is increasing in size. So, all of this information is needed to evaluate the exact risk and tell you. Ask her treating doctor about these specifics and it would be of great help.
I understand how expensive it gets trying to get drugs without insurance. pale may mean anemic and it is never a good idea to be short of blood during pregnancy for various reasons. I will suggest that she tries and get some iron tablets while waiting on the insurance to kick it. It wouldn't kill her but would have great advantages to her and the baby.
I wish her an safe pregnancy and delivery. feel free to ask for clarifations and hope this was helpful to you. Thank you for using our service. dt. Ditah, MD
