Bell Palsey On Right Side Of The Face. Left Ear Infection For Which Antibiotics Was Used. Painful Lump On Ear. Any Suggestion?

I've have bell palsey for 1 month on the right side of face, typical in presentation. One week later I developed an ear infection on the posited side (Left), with antibiotic ear infection cleared. A week or so later a lump the size of a pea developed above my left ear within 3 days the lump has expanded to the size of a quarter. The lump is painful to touch and spears hard and fixed. Any thoughts?

hello there!
I read your query and i believe these are mastoid lymph nodes swollen and inflammed secondary to Ear infection.your ear infection has been criminal in all these symptoms though it presented after bells palsy but facial nerve palsy is secondary to this Otitis media infection. bells palsy will recover no worries. But the lump on your mastoid areas areas above ear pinna is a complication of mastoid infection secondary to ear infection which you developed. I think you need an otorhinolaryngologist to rule out mastoiditis. The swollen pea sized lumps are mastoid lymph nodes and their tenderness to touch explains it with short history of 3 days.
Continue bells palsy treatment. care for the eyes. And see the ENT guys for mastoiditis sooner than possible.

Hope i was of help

Bells palsy and infection in other ear is not at all related. Its just a coincidence. About the lump above-it could be an abscess. You need to take some antibiotics to tackle it. Must include anti inflammatory and analgesics to reduce pain and inflammation.
