Big Lump Below Sternum, Swollen Lymph Nodes, Nodules On Lungs. Referred To Oncologist. What Could It Be?

My husband has a Golf ball sized lump behind and below sternum, swollen lymph node and 2 nodules on lungs per ct of abdomen. The insurance company only approved CT of abdomen but the tech moved the film upwards to get a shot at where the actual problem resided..
The dr. didn't know what it was and so is sending my husband to the oncologist. Naturally we will be concerned until we find out whats going on.
