Bipolar On Lithium, Topamax, But Emotionally Paralyzed, Sleeping A Lot And Varying Periods

I am 45, female, bipolar take lithium 300mg, Topamax 25mg, Effexor 75mg and clozopan .25. Ive been feeling like I don t care much ,emotionally paralyzed, sleeping a lot, not taking care of daily activities. Having periods of highs and lows, and anger. suggestions?

I think, you have bipolar depression. In that case you need higher dose of lithium along with effexor. Lithium would help to stabilize your mood and it would decrease the chances of mood swing. Effexor would help to decrease the depressive symptoms. With higher dose of antidepressant, you need higher dose of mood stabilizer. Discuss all with your psychiatrist.
