Bitter Taste In Mouth, Thick Saliva On Waking, Disappears On Eating. Using Gum Paint. Treatment?
what shall I do when I wake up everytime my mouth taste is bitter and there is thick saliva sort of thing in the mouth. It goes off when I wash my mouth with water. After eating something it disappears. This happens everytime I wake up. I brush twice regularly and keep my tongue clean too. and I use gum paint also. But it doesnot help . So any suggetions for this problem?

the problem is due to poor oral hygiene maintenance.
there is also foul odour in mouth called halitosis due to plaque accumulation.
always brush your teeth twice daily-morning and night in vertical direction.please visit your dentist and get a thorough check-up.get professional cleaning and root planning for your teeth.
use soft-interdental brush and mouthwash to clean your teeth.
thick saliva may be due to more mucuos secretion in the saliva.
always clean your mouth after every food intake.
check for any decay in mouth as it can also cause bitter taste in mouth.if present,it has to be restored.

The thickening of the saliva occurs during various conditions such as atrophy of the salivary glands, hot climate, smoking, hormonal changes (during menopause), etc.
The dry mouth is due to mouth breathing during sleep secondary to the nasal block by the thick secretions behind the nose
Drink plenty of warm water, this will keep the mucosa moist and reduce the consistency of the secretions
maintain good oral hygiene

Gum paint has nothing to do much in such situations as it is meant for gum related diseases, not meant for tongue. Bitter taste in mouth aling with Thick saliva sometimes may be attributed to Tobaccoo chewing or smoking habits or with excessive use of spicy foods.
First of all you MUST START using a good mouth wash like CHLORHEXIDINE diluted with warm water, to be used for atleat twice a day. followed by thorough tongue scrapping by tooth brush or Tongue scrapper. Drink Lots of WATER, as less water consumption is linked to thick saliva. minimize or avoid smoking/ chewing tobaccoo and spicy foods, in case you do.
Lastly seek a dentist opinion for any possible Fungal infection on tongue or for a oral prophylaxis (Scaling)
