Black Mark On Toe. What Could Be This?

Husband has about a 1/2 inch black mark on his big toe for several days. He thought maybe it was grease or black marker but attempts to wash it off not happening. A nurse looked at it and said it was not necrotic but to get a doctor to look at it. What could it be and what doctor should he see. He has an internest, podiatrist and a dermatologist. He said it does not hurt and is not red or swollen. This is onhis toe not toenail although he did say he stumped his toe a while ago.

Hi,

The black mark on great toe is probably ecchymosis.

There may be blood collection underneath the skin.

That might be following minor blunt trauma unknowingly.

It may go away within few weeks.

So, not to worry, still if you wish ,you contact dermatologist.

Vitamin C and K may be helpful.

Thrombophob oint may improve the condition.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
