Bleeding Not Normal, Could I Be Pregnant?

I m 24 years old. During my last day of menses i had sex and within 72hours of sex i took i-pill. next day morning i did home pregnancy test, result was negative. After 4-5 days of this thing, it started bleeding and bleeding is not normal, texture is thick as if tissues are coming out with blood. I want to know why it started bleeding again and whether these are symptoms of pregnancy or not? If yes then what should i do? Please help me out Doctor.

Usually after taking emergency contraceptive there will be heavy irregular bleeding within 4-5 days due to hormone imbalance after taking the tablet. Not to worry. If the bleeding if profuse you may need to see your Doctor. Other side effects are breast pain, abdominal pain, nausea, weight gain. Next time use condom to prevent pregnancy as this kind of pills will cause bad hormonal disturbance and it will take 2-3 cycles for your menstrual cycles to become regular again. Also for your information, sex during days of menses will not cause pregnancy. Pregnancy test should be done in 7-10 days of sex if you ever think you are pregnant.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.
For urine pregnancy test to become positive it takes at least 2 Weeks after conceiving.
Last day of your menses, if it is within 10 days from your starting date of period then you are unlikely to become pregnant, because it is within the safe period.
The bleeding you experienced must have been caused by the ipill that you ingested.
In all probability you are unlikely to be pregnant.
Wait for one month and if you do not get your regular period, then repeat the pregnancy test with early morning sample.
