Bleeding With Large Stringy Clot. History Of Hysteroscopy, Polypectomy, Insertion Of Mirena Coil. Concerning?

I had a diagnostic hysteroscopy, polypectomy and insertion of the mirena coil on Tuesday 10th, under general anaesthetic. All went well. Went back to work today with moderate bleeding, and little amount of cramps.
Being a regular runner I went out this evening and felt good running. Later this evening I could tell I had flooded a bit and when I went to the toilet there was a large clot on the pad. About 1inch long, 1/4 inch wide ish.....quite stringy took me by surprise. I haven't got much more tummy cramps than I had, should I be concerned?

Hello ma'am.

This should not be of concern and should have been explained by your doctor. During the process of insertion certain amount of bleeding can take placr, this blood can at times remain stagnant, resulting in the formation of clots. But this is expected to come out naturally, which is exactly what happened.

Although, it is best to keep your doctor informed about the same as he/she would want to make sure that the mirena is in place.
