Blemishes And Acne On Back And Hips. Improvement From Benzoyl Peroxide And Propysalic Ointment. Continuing These Advised?
Hi I am 27 male, suffering from back acne. I got acne on my back and hips... Now less acne more blemishes are left. I am depressed as I am getting married soon and feel shy about my body. I look attractive and got a good physique but these acne marks on my back and hips are hitting my confidence. I want to share few observations that I have seen. Recently I joined swimming classes and I see less acne on my back... After my classes I come home and take shower, I use benzoyl peroxide (perobar 5%) soap to wash my back and hips n latter on apply propysalic nf6 ointment before going to sleep and in the morning( 2 times in a day ). I apply the same on my feet, ankles and knees and back part of the neck... And I amazed to see the results in a short time, acne marks are removing and dark parts of my body are getting fairer... I want to know should i continue using the same treatment, as it is suiting my skin type. Kindly give your expert opinion, is it harmful? It's been going on for a while I mean I discontinue it after sum time and then again start it for over a period of 1 - 1.5 months.
Hi, Thanks for writing in. You can use benzoyl peroxide for long time but propysalic NF6 ointment contains strong steroid like clobetasol and should not be used at all. Few procedures like microdermabrasion and chemical peeling can help a lot for improving scars and skin colour respectively.
Visit a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps. Regards. DrSudarshan MD Dermatology
