Blocked Ear, Odd Hearing, High Pitch Audible. What Is Wrong?
I woke up two days ago with a blocked ear. It wasn t really all that bad though it felt like it was taking longer to get rid of than normal. After a couple hours it was still around, though after I finally managed to pop my ear, I started hearing an odd, robotic or whistling noise that came along with normal sounds in my ear. I don t hear it when there isn t any sound, only when the pitch is high enough I suppose. I just wanna know if this is something that resolves on its own.

There are plenty of causes for Hearing loss.
You may have either conductive or Sensorineural hearing loss.
In conductive type, problem could be either in external ear or middle ear.
In Sensorineural type, problem could be either in inner ear or nerve from inner ear to brain.
If the hearing loss is associated with dizziness or vomiting, probably the cause could be in inner ear.
Even wax or foreign body in external ear can cause partial hearing loss.
some other causes are middle ear infection or inner ear disease.
exposure to excessive noise also cause hearing loss.
It is better to have physical examination by ENT specialist.
If the cause is due to wax or foreign body, you may get immediate relief.
If he suspect an infection, he may give antibiotics appropriately.
sometimes you may advised to take audiogram, X Ray and CT.
