Blood In Urine And Was Diagnosed For UTI And Chlamydia. Should I Consult The Doctor For The Problem Which Has Not Reduced After Taking Antibiotics?
Hi. Last tuesday I went to the ER after seeing blood in my urine. I found out I had a Uti and chlamydia. I was given a shot and 4 pills plus I was given 14 pills of doxycycline Hyclate 100mg. I was suppose to take 2 a day for 7 days and I did. I finished taking the last of my pills of Monday. Today I saw that I still had blood in my urine. Did the treatment work and the effects are delayed? Do I go back to the Er?
Hello Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Possible reason of blood in urine may be . 1 Stone ( calculus ) any where from kidney to urethra ( kidney , ureter , urinary bladder , urethra) .Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of urinary tract system. 2 Renal failure , diagnosis can be confirmed by M R I of both kidney and serum creainine and blood urea examination. 3 U T I ( urinary tract infection ) , usually uti is not responsible for blood in urine . More or less doxycycline is a bacteriostatic drug . In my opinion get in urine culture and drug sensitivity test for treatment . In my opinion in this case you should consult an UROLOGIST and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr. HET
