Hi, Thanks for the query.
Sometimes the
pregnancy occurs later than what is predicted by the date of the last menstrual period. This may happen due to delayed ovulation. If the pregnancy is very early,
sonography will not detect it. Sonography will not pickup anything less than 5-6 weeks.
Another possibility is a
missed abortion when the fetus is not alive. Urine test is still positive and it may rarely fail to show any sac on sonography. Ectopic pregnancy can also produce a similar picture when the
uterus is empty and the pregnancy test is positive. This can rupture. It will give rise to symptoms like pain in abdomen, palpitations and
fainting if it ruptures. A
serum beta HCG done twice at an interval of 48 hours also helps to detect ectopic. Transvaginal sonography [TVS] also picks it up early. Check to see if you had a vaginal scan or sonography was done from the abdomen. If it was an abdominal scan, get a TVS done.
Now about endogest: This is a hormone similar to
progesterone, a natural hormone that helps to maintain the pregnant state. If levels of progesterone fall then abortion may occur. Since you are having a positive urine test, this has been given as a safeguard to maintain pregnancy.
This can be taken orally or if it is a soft gelatin capsule may be taken vaginally. Also I suggest that you get a follow up scan done after 2 weeks, preferably by TVS, to confirm pregnancy.
Hope this satisfies your query.
