Hi,

Regular exercise and a proper diet control would help you in lowering your blood sugar levels. but i would not recommend you to stop the medicines abruptly. instead you can incorporate the diet and exercise in your routine along with the medicines and get a better blood sugar level. your insulin dosage will be lowered once your blood sugar levels start reaching the normal levels. to start with , here are some tips ...

1] the fasting blood sugar levels amounts for the sugar that your liver produces overnight .... hence to control the fasting blood sugar level, you must exercise / walk for atleast 30 min in the later part of the day / late evenings .. this will help in reducing your overnight hepatic glucose output.

2] the post prandial blood sugar levels amounts from the sugars derived from the meal you eat... hence to control the post prandial blood sugar levels , you should incorporate enough fiber in the form of vegetables and salads in you meal, and choose complex carbohydrate foods instead of simple carbs, like choose whole wheat chapati over a maida nan / white bread . and take a 10 -15 min walk (easy , medium paced) after your meal, this will help in better digestion as well as better uptake of glucose from the blood stream .

since you mentioned, you have diabetes since 10 years now, its important that you wear a proper covered shoe for your walks instead of simple chappals or sandals in order to avoid foot injuries.
