Bloody And Smelly Discharge With Cramps After Inserting Mirena Will Go Away?
hi I am 18 years old, i had the mirena inserted last week on the 11th October 2012, and i have started to notice, bloody and smell discharge, bad cramps at times or constant mild cramps and swelling where the pain is. Will this go away? and am I able to have the mirena taken out within the next few week?
After insertion of Mirena it will take some time for the adjustment, during that period you can see minimal spotting, cramps, vaginal discharge, etc. But usually the symptoms will subside soon without the need of medication.
If the symptoms persist at first you can take symptomatic treatment with your doctor's advice by taking analgesics local vaginal wash excetra if the symptoms didn't do not subside by taking this measures also better to get examined ones and undergo and ultrasound to confirm the intrauterine position of the Mirena.
If the symptoms persist and recurs, then you can go for removal of Mirena. It can be removed at any time during the month, but during that month you have to use some additional contraceptive method like barrier methods to prevent the possibility of pregnancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
