Symptoms I experience: Has happened maybe 3 times in the last year, body overheats suddenly, very sweaty, very clammy, lightheaded almost to the point of passing out, very pale, have to take clothes off and put cold wet towel on back to try to cool down, almost feel like throwing up, symptoms can last anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for using healthcaremagic,
the symptoms you describe could stem from a vast majority of sources. Fluctuations in body temperature as such with associated symptoms may require an investigations of the body to adapt to changes in blood pressure, with respect to particular positions. This is orthostatic pressure adaptation. This could be as a result of a defective adaptation mechanism, usually assured by particular structures in the cardiovascular system. Visiting the cardiologist could be helpful.
Transient changes in blood glucose could present with similar symptoms. Hypoglycemia, which low blood glucose could classically present as such too. Doing a fasting blood sugar could help. Its a rare the diabetes presents as such, but it can in some situations, but we would expect to have other symptoms associated to that too.
carrying out these tests in conjunction with a chest X ray and an electrocardiogramme could be of great help.
I suggest you visit and cardiologist for a proper clinical examination and exclusion of these causes. Vasogenic inadaptation, hypoglycemia or other endocrine disorders could be at the origin of this. You cardiologist would be of much help.
Thanks and hope this helps,
Luchuo, MD.
