Born With Cleft Palate, Post Nasal Drip In Mouth, Have Itching, Cold And Cough, Have Sinus. Why Does This Happen?
I was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip that was repaired to some degree when I was a child. My health concern is that I have constant post nasal drip into my mouth. I started with a cold about a month ago, It semi went away. Then I started with a sty in one eye and itchy scratchy feeling under my eyes by my sinuses. Then about 3 days later started with what feels like a cold or again.. sneezing, coughing along with the post nasal drip. Nose started running again today. I have been to the doctor a couple of times already since it has been quite a while. I have had this before. I seems as if it never completely goes away but I have been told it is all part of having a cleft palate as if I have to learn to live it because there is nothing they can do. I have looked it up online and it sounds like others have had the same problems. Wondering if there is somewhere else, or another type doctor I should go to find answers. My ENT has only really addresses ear problems, not the nasal and drip issues.

you have post nasal drip and you are operated for cleft lip and palate.
After surgery there is fibrosis and the airflow is not that smooth and is turbulent because of which there is irritation in the nasal skin and more secretion which drips down the throat. You can use normal saline nasal wash to keep nasal skin healthy. This will not allow debris and crusts to form and prevents infection.
