Hello Dr. Keerthi,
In the past, I have enjoyed sometimes lifting weights while working out at a nearby fitness center. While working out about 3 - 4 months ago, I did it too strenuously and did not breathe properly, resulting in a sudden overwhelming throbbing pressure sensation in my left and right temples of my head (most prominent on the left side). I realized something wasn't right; I felt for a moment like I was going to pass out. After this incident, and seeing my primary care physician, I got an EKG and brain MRI done, all which came back negative. They diagnosed it as no problems; all normal. Since then, I stopped working out and have tried to take it easy. Once or twice I went on a light jog. I have not felt the severity of the original incident, and for the most part, I haven't really felt the symptoms all that much. But I still have felt a tiny amount of pressure in those same areas periodically, ever so slightly. And then this past week, I had very stressful projects at work, which caused me to get emotionally overwhelmed and stressed. Now I am feeling the pressure more prominently and regularly in those same left and right temple areas of my head. Does this necessarily mean the blood vessels on the left and right sides of my head are bleeding?
What can I do to stop this problem now and in the long-term? And I really want to avoid surgery if at all possible. What can I do to avoid surgery but still correct this problem? Thank you.
