Broke Out In Hives Cause Of Hypothyroid Which Left Itchy Lesions On Legs, Arms. Tried Alcohol, Neosporin, Cortisone, Desonide. Recommendations?
Hi. About 3 months ago i broke out in hives, and it wasn't the first time. I get them periodically and was told it is because I am hypothyroid. After this last episode I am left with lesions on my arm and leg in areas where I must have scratched too much. Have tried alcohol, neosporin, cortisone, desonide, and warm sea salt soaks. What else could I try? My doc's appt is not for 2 more a weeks. Thank you.
Hi, It seems that this problem might be due to thyroid where skin becomes dry and lusterless. Keep hypothyroid in control with medicine, afterwards gradually skin problem will be solved. Apply triple action cream locally. Apply some moisturizing cream. For itching take Cetrizine or Levo-cetrizine as and when required. Ok and take care.
