Broke Pelvis During Delivery. Raised Red Bumps On Back, Neck, Shoulder, Spreading. Remedy?

I have a friend who had a baby 21 years ago. During delivery she broke her pelvis. The next day she noticed a large patch of very raised and red bumps across the top of her back, close to the neck and along the shoulders. Her doctor said it was from the shock. It now seems to be spreading. What causes the bumps and are there any remedies. Ellen

Hello Ellen.

I understand and respect the concern for your friend, buy please know that skin lesions or rashes can at times present in a similar manner and thus require a physical examination and not just a discussion. Causes could be infections (bacterial, fungal, viral, etc.), injuries, medical conditions like psoriasis, sexually transmitted infections, and so on. Please take your friend for a physical and possibly even a laboratory examination of the rash or raised lesions.

Hope this helps.

Besy wishes.
