Brown Mole With Pink Color Around Edges, Looks Like Flattened Mushroom. What Could Be This?

I have something that looks like a mole...I'm not sure what it is. It is brown with pink around the edges, raised..and the outer part of the mole isn't attached directly to my skin...so it kinda looks like a flattened mushroom. I'm concerned but my health insurance doesn't kick in for another 2 months. I was just curious if I could ask what some of the possibliities are that it could be.

Hi,
Welocme and thanks for posting your query.
In your query you have not mentioned the site, size and duration and any change or symptoms of pain or itching perceived by you in this mole like thing. Even then we can make out three possibilities of the proble:
1. Compound mole: there are many a types of moles, but amongst them it is most common one and caused by proliferation of certain cells (melanocytes)in the skin
2. Achrochordon: It is just over-proliferation of skin tags.
3. Molluscum contagiosum: A viral infection of skin manifested as pearl like bead on the skin.
Now all of these are benign and treatable conditions by simple and cheap methods like excision or cautery in few minutes. You can meet a dermatologist who can guide you the best or can send the complete history with a photograph to our forum to get the best of the help.
With best health wishes.
