Brown Spot On The Side Of Vagina Seen. What Could This Be?

Hi Dr. I noticed a brown spot on the side of my vagina lip closer toward the vagina hole area. Sorry I don't know the technical terms. My husband is a nurse and he said its just apart of my skin my mucus membrane changes color just as though it does on my gums in my mouth. (Some parts are pink some parts are brown). Do you know what this brown spot could be? Symptoms are none. No discomfort.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The brown spot that you have noticed could be related to a pigmented spot like mole. Most of the times it is a benign swelling without any symptoms. Do consult your gynecologist in case there is a change in the size, shape, redness or ulceration.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Rakhi-Tayal
